Kyriaki Costa
Kyriaki Costa is primarily an artist who applies her knowledge and love of art in fashion design, creating unique clothing that are both visually artistic and extremely comfortable and versatile.
A graduate in Byzantine and Applied Arts and with a masters degree from Kingston University in London, Kyriaki has participated in several Biennale exhibitions in Europe with themes related to the culture and art of Cyprus, receiving honorary awards and distinctions.
In 2009, she received first prize for her work “Presence and Absence” from PAD in Italy. Her videos have been used as teaching materials at the University of the Aegean. She regularly collaborates with a choreographer as a costume and visual designer. Her delicate stitching work is applied to whimsical fabric pins and necklaces in shapes inspired from the land and images of childhood such as birds, lizards and vegetables. Her clothing, made in natural fabrics, is minimal and cleverly designed to be worn in several different ways.
